In 2021, STs outperformed non-STs in several indicators related to gender balance, family planning, pregnancy, breastfeeding practices, and the occurrence of diabetes and hypertension.
However, non-STs outperformed STs in indicators related to child mortality, child malnutrition, and high blood pressure levels among the 15-49 age group.

It's important to note that STs face challenges in various health and socioeconomic aspects, and targeted policy efforts are needed to address these disparities.

The study also highlighted improvements among STs between 2016 and 2021 in access to sanitation facilities, skilled health personnel attending births, full vaccination coverage among children aged 12-23 months, and civil registration of births.

Overall, the study emphasizes the importance of addressing the health and welfare disparities faced by STs in India to achieve progress in population, health, and nutrition policy metrics.(Especially salient for the Anthropology Candidates)
