Summary of Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) Technology

Title: An Overview of Li-Fi Technology

Li-Fi (Light Fidelity) is an innovative technology that offers internet connectivity using light, typically operating within a wavelength range of 480 to 650 nm. This system employs LED light for data transmission, promising several advantages:

Dual Functionality: Li-Fi not only provides lighting but also internet connectivity, making it a multifunctional technology.

Enhanced Security: Since light cannot penetrate walls, Li-Fi ensures a secure connection that is less susceptible to external interception and hacking.

No Radio Frequency Interference: Li-Fi does not interfere with existing radio frequencies like Wi-Fi and 5G, allowing for seamless operation in spaces with multiple wireless technologies.

However, Li-Fi faces challenges in wider adoption due to its limitations:

Proximity and Exposure Requirements: Users need to be close to the Li-Fi emitting source (lamp), and their devices must be directly exposed to the light for optimal connectivity. Limited Range: Li-Fi has a significantly lower range compared to traditional Wi-Fi, restricting its practical applications.

Despite these challenges, Li-Fi offers a promising, secure alternative for internet connectivity, particularly in areas where Wi-Fi is unavailable or in environments where radio frequency interference is a concern.
