Q: Which Indian states are most affected by hunger?

A: Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh are the worst-performing states, with "alarming" scores on the State Hunger Index. Several other states, including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh also score poorly.

Q: Which states are doing the best in fighting hunger?

A: Chandigarh, Sikkim, Puducherry, and Kerala have the lowest hunger scores, falling into the "moderate" category.

Q: Why does hunger persist in India even though it produces a lot of food?

A: Hunger in India has complex causes. It's not just about the amount of food produced, but also:

* Poverty and inequality in access to food
* Poor nutrition beyond just calorie intake
* Insufficient focus on child health and nutrition

Q:  How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected hunger in India?

A: The full impact is still unknown, as data is not yet available. However, it's likely that the pandemic made the hunger situation worse for many people.
