Indian Army Initiatives:

Permanent Commission (PC): Expansion of PC for Women Officers in 12 Arms & Services.

National Defence Academy (NDA): Inclusion of women cadets with ongoing batches from July 2022.

Aviation Opportunities: Women Officers serving as pilots in the Army Aviation Corps.

Career Advancement: Consideration of Women Officers for Colonel rank and command appointments.

Enlistment: Introduction of women in Corps of Military Police with a target of 1,700 women.

Indian Navy’s Steps for Inclusion:

Wide Branch Access: Opening all branches for women except Submarine specialization from June 2023.

Warship Appointments: Placement of women officers aboard warships and helicopters.

Remote Piloting: Admission of women officers to the RPA stream.

Diplomatic Roles: Assignment of women officers in overseas diplomatic and cooperative roles.

Increased NDA Vacancies: Rise in NDA vacancies for women from 3 to 12 effective January 2024.

Indian Naval Academy (INA): Eligibility for women through ‘10+2 B.Tech.’ entry scheme from January 2024.

Agniveers Scheme: Integration of women into the Agnipath Scheme from the start.

Indian Air Force (IAF) Measures:

Gender-Neutral Recruitment: Induction of women in all IAF branches and streams.

Combat Roles: Regularization of women officers in combat roles from 2022.

NDA Intake: Six vacancies per course for women cadets in NDA for the next five years.

Promotional Campaigns: ‘DISHA’ cell campaigns to motivate women to join IAF.

Motivational Outreach: Talks by women officers to inspire female students to consider IAF careers.

Infrastructure Upgradation: Modernizing facilities to accommodate the growing number of women personnel.
