Question : ‘Walmiki and Malhar’, recently seen in news are:
Dance form of Jammu and Kashmir
Languages from Odisha
Folk songs of Gujarat
None of these
Well done! Your Answer is correct.
Researchers from the University of Hyderabad have discovered two languages which were lying hidden from linguists.
One of them is called Walmiki and is spoken in the district of Koraput of Odisha and on the bordering districts of Andhra Pradesh. The name of the language, Walmiki, “is also interesting and indicative because the speech community claims descent from the great Indian saint-poet Valmiki”.
The second language “Malhar” is spoken in a remote and isolated hamlet about 165 km away from Bhubaneswar. The community consists of about 75 speakers including children.
The preliminary data shows that Malhar belonged to the “North Dravidian subgroup of the Dravidian family of languages” and that it has close affinities with the other North Dravidian languages like Malto and Kurux spoken in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar.
Oops! Correct Answer is B.

Question : ‘Kaleswaram project , recently seen in news, is located in which among the following states?
Well done! Your Answer is correct.
In news: Central Water Commission (CWC) has appreciated the Telangana government for the speedy execution of work on the Kaleshwaram irrigation project aimed at creation of over 18 lakh acres of new irrigation potential and stabilising another 18 lakh acres of the existing command area.
It has been claimed to be the costliest irrigation project to be taken up by any State till date with an estimated cost of ₹80,500 crore. The Kaleshwaram project is an off-shoot of the original Pranahitha-Chevella Lift Irrigation Scheme taken up by the Congress government in 2007 when Andhra Pradesh was not divided. After the formation of Telangana in 2014, the government redesigned the project on the ground that the original plan had too many environmental obstacles and had very low water storage provision — only about 16.5 tmc ft.
