I want to know about Sriram’s.
SRIRAM’S IAS came into existence in 1985 to impart quality education to the students preparing for Civil Services Examination. Sriram’s is known for its experienced faculty, excellent study material and its emphasis on personal attention. The Institute is also known for many innovations in guiding the students like initiating new courses like introduction of Mains Programme for General Studies in the month of June to provide an extra edge for the students who will be writing their Mains in October and a rock solid foundation course for the students preparing for next May (Prelims).

Why SRIRAM’s is THE BEST for GS? How does it outperform other institutes?
We are the best because of – Exclusivity in presentation, wide and in-depth coverage of syllabus, completion of the course in time well ahead of examination, unmatched credibility of faculty, Constant and continuous evaluation through examinations and Study material that is constantly renewed . We also respect and encourage the students to actively participate in Class room discussion, relevant questions raised in the class will be answered immediately to the satisfaction of the students and those students who feel shy to raise questions in the class can avail of the facility wherein the faculty will answer their queries privately. We do not `dumb down’.
In the Prelims-cum-Mains Course, we cover current events exhaustively. Our quality is also very superior as we cater to the genuine students.

Do you assess the performance of the candidate?
We can proudly claim to be the only credible institute in the country to constantly evaluate the performance of the candidates. We follow the formula of evaluation of the candidates immediately after a component of the syllabus is covered in the class room. Our tests are on par and at sometimes at premium with UPSC examinations. After evaluation, candidate has the freedom to approach the concerned faculty to clear his doubts and get suggestions regarding further improvement.

  Back  /  Top
What are my chances of getting into service if I join you?
The brightest. For the reason that you are continuously tracked for your progress; faculty is approachable, in fact, faculty is evangelical; we will tap your enthusiasm and add value to it. We sincerely believe that if the candidate strictly adheres to our schedule and methodology success is inevitable. While we will strive to make him successful in the UPSC exam, chances are that he will find a good placement in the state level jobs too.

I am not a professional like doctor/engineer. Does it impact the outcome? Can I compete equally with them?
UPSC provides equal opportunities and level playing field for students belonging to different streams. It will notdifferentiate between candidates belonging to Sciences/Arts/Humanities/ Languages/Commerce/Medicine/law etc. The candidate has to choose among the optionals provided by UPSC and his educational background may not have any relation to the optionals he chooses. Candidates are expected to put in their sincere efforts in a religious manner.

Do your keep yourself updated with the fast changing nature of the examination?
Yes, our strength lies in the fact that we keep ourselves updated with the fast changing environment. Our coverage reflects the changing realties of the toughest examination in the nation. Our faculty has vast experience, zeal to teach and examination bias.

  Back  /  Top
Has the syllabus (kind of questions) changed over years? If yes, have you changed too?
Syllabus changes periodically. It changed in 2000 and again in 2008. As teachers committed to boost the value of coaching, we take great pleasure in seeing the implications of the changes and keeping the student ahead of the curve. Being experienced faculty- with over 15-20 years- our teachers can do it well.

  Back  /  Top
Will you kindly inform us of some changes noticed in the previous exam? And how you covered these changes?
In 2008, we had to equip our students with the new inclusions in the syllabus like health, foreign direct investment, foreign trade, intellectual property rights etc. We did it byexhaustively going into the implications of the new items in the syllabus and elaborately working on them. It paid off.
Since 2008 October, the examination pattern for General Studies Mains changed- the value of economics- national and international increased.

What is the topper’s view of the institute?
A topper is one whose looks for value for time. He knows his requirements. He has a strategy and wants to refine it. Therefore, he looks for guidance. He wants justice in all departments. We encourage such individuals. Topper helps other students in the class by suggesting new topics and new dimensions.

As you know, Sriram’s has had the pride of association with 10-15 toppers- top 25- every year. They appreciate us for our sincerity; coverage; hard work; regularity; last but most important, personal attention. So many candidates could have fared far better given personal attention and intellectual depth and detail. If one is an average student, he needs Sriram’s equally as for all the reasons cited above.

Apart from the above, our guidance is more than enough for those preparing for State or Provincial Civil Services. The same is also useful for the Assistant Commandant Examination conducted by UPSC and CDS.
